Operational activity
As at 30 October 2024, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (the Commission):
- is conducting 31 preliminary investigations
- is conducting 29 corruption investigations, including 6 joint investigations
- is overseeing or monitoring 19 investigations by other agencies.
- has 6 matters before the court
- has 491 referrals pending assessment.
Over the period from 1 July 2024 to midnight Sunday 27 October 2024, the Commission:
- received 802 referrals
- excluded 669 referrals at triage stage.

Sixth conviction for the Commission
Yesterday, the Downing Centre Local Court in Sydney sentenced a former Department of Home Affairs employee for abuse of public office, disclosure of information and unauthorised access to records, in the sixth conviction obtained in matters continued by the Commission since 1 July 2023.
The matter was prosecuted by the Office of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, following a joint investigation initiated by the former Australian Commission for Law Enforcement Integrity (ACLEI) with the Department of Home Affairs, which transitioned to the Commission.
